Speaking with a group of newsmen recently in Calabar, Pst. He said aside his political experience and good works in the sub transport sector, Nyiam have been a faithful and loyal follower of the present government who deserves to be compensated.

After Senator Oko died, Pst. Thomas said it was only logical for Godwin Nyiam who he said came second during the election to replace the late Sen. Rose Oko just as it happened in Kogi where Yahya Bello became the party's candidate after the death of the party's flag bearer. He also used the case of Atiku Abubakar as another example where Atiku's running mate was made governor of Adamawa state after Atiku was chosen as Obasanjo's running mate.
