C'River APC: "I will Uphold, Strengthen Internal Democracy", Ogbiji Nyiam speaks on upcoming congress

As the All Progressives Congress State Congress draws near, a frontline aspirant for the office of state chairman for Cross River State, Mr. Ogbiji Nyiam has shed more light on his aspiration.

Speaking with some newsmen over the weekend in Calabar, the Ogoja born politician informed that he has all it takes to pilot the affairs of the party stating that when elected, other states will send their chairmen to come understudy his leadership style as he will uphold internal democracy.

"I don't know what is bringing anybody to the Executive Council of the party, but for me, it is to serve. I can assure you one thing. After Like four, five, six months into office, other states will be sending their own chairmen to come and learn party administration from us."

Nyiam said internal democracy being the fulcrum of any political party will be the center of his leadership while engaging stakeholders across board to ensure everyone is carried along. He noted that transparency is also a vital leadership ingredient that is missing in many leadership platforms today.

"One of the things I will be offering the party is a viable internal democracy, You don't do this alone, you do it with a atronf and intense collaboration with the leader of the party and the stakeholders to ensure that what your thinking of internal democracy is, also resonates with theirs. Another thing I will be offering my party is serious engagement. I will engage stakeholders and the leader of my party in the state and South South Nigeria, His Excellency, Governor Ben Ayade and also the party at the national. My Executive Council Members will also be subjected to trainings and retraining. Because a man who does not know his rules of engagement cannot be faulted when he does not carry out his duties effectively." He said.

Speaking on the aftereffects of the recently held ward and local government congresses, Nyiam called on all aggrieved members of the party to withdraw their cases from the court/tribunal and approach the round table of discussion. He also called on the leadership of the party to hold a round table talk with aggrieved members stating that such moves will help build and unite the party ahead of victory come 2023.
