Great Friends Int'l set to Inaugurates 9th President, Honors Mbora, Jarvis, Ikpeme, 8 other Distinguished Personalities in Calabar


A Social club given to societal development known as Great Friends International will on Saturday 2nd of October 2021 honor Rt. Hon. Eta Mbora, Member representing Calabar/Municipality Federal Constituency with a Political Governance award while Prof. Ikpeme Ikpeme, Chief Medical Director, University of Calabar Teaching Hospital will o home with a Corporate Governance award and Sir Arthur Jarvis Archibong, Chancellor, Authur Jarvis University will bag a Community Development award. 

Other awardees include, Ntufam Francis Effiom, President, Life Enhancement Microfinance Institution-Business Development, Prof. Ekaete Enang, Professor of Sample Survey, University of Calabar- Academics and Chief Cyril Anthony Asuquo, Special Adviser on Climate Change, Cross River State- Emerging Political Personality






This was made known in a Press Release signed by the Chairman Media/Publicity sub-committee, Mr. Asuquo B. Solomon and made available to TND. According to the release, the club will also inaugurate her 9th President while launching its 2022 project. 

The press statement informed that the 2022 project is centered on catering for street Children Calabar.

The Great Friends International, a humanitarian service organization holds her 9th Presidential Inauguration/25th Anniversary celebration  on Saturday, 2nd October, 2021 at the Hope Waddell Training Institution Assembly Hall by 4pm.

The epoch-making event will feature the launch of our 2022 project themed: "Helping the Street Children for a Secured Future" with a key note address to be delivered by a notable professional and erudite academic, Dr. Mrs. Brenda Akpan, Executive Director, Centre for Gender Development, University of Calabar Deserving  personalities who are engaged in both private and public services will be honoured with various categories of awards in recognition of their excellent performances. 

The event which will host distinguished invitees drawn from the government, private sector, academic, international development partners, politicians, among others will also see to the honouring of 5 of her members who have distinguished themselves in their chosen areas of profession. They are:

Prof. Bassey Ekpo, Professor of Petroleum/ Environmental Geochemistry, Unical


Prof. Orok Oyo Ita, Professor of Pharmaceuticals and Organic Chemistry, Unical

Ntufam Nicholas Ito Agbo, Chartered Accountant and Auditor, Director of Audit, Unical

Prof. Ayi Ayi, Professor of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Unical.

Mr. Samuel Ntiero, Production Manager, Niger Mills Plc, Calabar

Great Friends International has over the 25 years of its existence carried out numerous life saving Humanitarian projects across the state.
