Call a spade a spade, speak truth to power always - Egbona Charges C'Riverians





Member of Parliament, representing Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly has called on Cross Riverians to all speak truth to power at every given time without sugar coating in order to gain favor. 


Alex who made this known during an interactive session with the Governor's media aide, Beatrice Akpala said citizen should learn to call all a spade a spade by speaking truth to power deliberately Instead of engaging in the pull them down syndrome. Adding that a new Cross River State will only arise when people become conscious about Not Playing Politics With The Welfare Of The People For Their Selfish Interest. He Also Reiterated That Emphasis Must Be Placed On Quality Leadership And Effective Representation In All Spheres Of Influence. 

Dr Egbona Also Stated That The Vicious Clamour For Political Positions Is Not The Solution To The Cross River State Problem. Noting That We Can Only Have A Progressive State When The Citizens Choose To Build Capacity In All Ramifications. He Enjoined The Young Population To Get Involved In Skill Acquisition. He Therefore Commended Governor Ben Ayade For The Establishment Of The Fabrication Academy To Help Cross Riverians To Maximise Their Potentials. He Further Noted That We Are In The Era Of Digitalization And The People Of Cross River State Must Learn To Be Self-sufficient. 

He Re-emphasized That They Is No Alternative To Creativity And Personal Development. Adding That In Developing A New Cross River State People Must Learn Not To Put Their Hopes In Food On The Table Alone Or By Expecting Manna To Fall From Heaven Or Depending On Politicians To Consistently Give Them Money By Being Beggarly. He Asserted That The Dependency Level Of People On Politicians In The State Is Unprecedented. According To Him, It Has Limited Some People From Achieving Their Dreams As Well As Maximising Their Ultimate Potentials. He Reiterated Also That Politicians Should Have A Fall Back Position And Not Consider Politics As The Only Option Because Politics Is Not A Career. Noting That To Be A Politician One Must Also Have A Lucrative Take Off Point. He Further Called On All Cross Riverians To Think Outside The Box To Be Able To Collectively Take Cross River State To The Eldorado Of Prosperity We All Seek For.

On The Six Years Of The Ben Ayade Led Administration, Dr. Egbona Gave A Fifty Fifty Rating, He Affirmed That Governor Ben Ayade Has Done His Best. Adding That The Load The Governor Is Carrying Is Humongous And Above His Carrying Capacity Based On The Limited Resources In Cross River State. He Urged The Governor To Cut His Coat According To His Cloth  To Be Able To End Strong With An Enviable Legacy As The Government Is Winding Down. He Also Encouraged Governor Ben Ayade To Consolidate On The Core People Oriented Projects That Will Change The Fortunes Of Cross River State. 

Speaking On The Political Happenings In Cross River State Dr Egbona Said That The Ogoja/Yala Bye-Election Is A Must Win For The All Progressives Congress. He Avouched That APC Must Showcase Capacity Because Their Victory At This Level Will Culminate To Their Dominant Victory At The 2023 General Elections. He Reinstated That The Ogoja/Yala Bye-Election Requires Adequate Planning And The Choice Of A Quality Candidate From Yala Local Government Area, In Between The Two Blocs, Either The Yala Speaking Bloc Or The Ukelle Speaking Bloc. Adding That In Election Matters Over Confidence Is The Beginning Of Failure Because You Can Not Underrate Anybody. He Disclosed That Elections Can Only Be Won By Adequate Planning Because The Democratic Process Has Been Returned To The Grassroot And The Power Will Remain With The People. He Enjoined The All Progressives Congress To Engaged In Adequate Mobilisation And Sensitization Of The Electorates.

On The 2023 Transition, Dr. Egbona Stated Categorically That Based On His Assessment, There Are Two Outstanding Cross Riverians In The Race That Has The Capacity To Take Cross River State Forward. He Posited That All That Is Required Is For Those Individuals To Be Located And Supported To Achieve Their Laudable Objectives. He Called On All Cross Riverians To Encourage Governor Ben Ayade To Do More By Queuing Behind Him To Consolidate On His Administration. He Urged The People Also To Respect Leadership And To Be Peaceful In All Their Endeavours Because Peace Is A Fundamental Requirement In Building Any Credible Process. 

For His Constituents, Dr. Egbona Pledged To Leave No Stone Unturned In The Development Of Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency To Ensure That He Leaves The Area Better Than He Met It At The Expiration Of His Tenure.
