C'River 2023: Geshom Bassey Brags, says Nobody Can Match My Capacity and Vision for C'River

As the battle for the soul of Cross River becomes more intense, Sen. Geshom Bassey, representing Cross River southern senatorial district in the Red Chambers of the National Assembly and a gubernatorial hopeful come 2023 has said no other contender for the seat can match his vision for Cross River State neither can any other aspirant contend with his capability to lead the state.

Bassey made this known recently in Calabar while addressing the leadership of the People's Democratic Party at the party's Secretariat. He maintained that he remains the most qualified amongst all those competing with him, stating that none of the aspirants across party lines has the level of experience and capabilities he has, while calling on the party organise a debate between him and all other aspirants.

"In terms of capacity, no one running for governor in any party in this state has my capacity. In terms of vision, nobody can match the vision i have for cross River and cross Riverians. In terms security and infrastructure, nobody can match me, Mr. chairman, you must organize a debate for all aspirants to show themselves".

He further reminded the party executives that he only came with his supporters to felicitate with them during the yelutide.

Bassey used the occasion to advise the party Chairman and his executive to always stand by truth, stating that it only the truth that has sustained the party till date. He lamented a situation where the party is finding it difficult to stand by and for the truth on issues related with rotational politics as practiced by the party. He informed the party Chairman, that zoning or rotational politics has always been part of the PDP and the Chairman Vena Ikem is a product of that truth.

Supporting Sen. Bassey's position on rotational politics, some leaders of the party who spoke separately said it was imperative for the party to follow the path of truth and follow the tradition of the party by ensuring the party's ticket for the Gubernatorial race.

In his response, Barr. Vena Ikem, State Chairman of the party said, he is more concerned in winning elections and his administration will do all it takes to ensure that come 2023 PDP takes over government house.
