Real Truth Exposed: See Why Geshom Bassey wants to be Governor of C'River


Indeed political activities have kicked off in earnest and for members of the People's Democratic Party, it has not been business as usual as it has been a busy period for them with several aspirants consulting and campaigning across the state. 

The caterpillar movement led by Sen. Sandy Onor had rounded up theirs with Rt. Hon. Daniel Asuquo, Dansuki also completing his tour. 

Sen. Geshom Bassey who represents Cross River southern senatorial district in the Red Chambers of the National Assembly started his this week and as at yesterday they were in Yakurr to see the Obol lopon  of Ugep and the Yakurr nation. 

During this visit, Geshom made a grave revelation concerning his ambition to be governor. He informed the teeming crowd that his intention to be governor is bone from the fact that the state has lost its radar and its now taking a backward backward move and he believes he has the capacity, experience and expertise to turn things around. 

The Senator said it is only appropriate to change the trajectory of the state and take Cross River back to its glorious days that at this moment, the state is swayed away and far off course. He assured constituents of Yakurr that he is running for the 2023 gubernatorial elections based on existing facts that he has the capacity and a blueprint and will build on the existing models and structures

"So we are off course and its an opportunity for us to get back on track, That's why I am running for Governor in 2023, I have the capacity, I have the ability to get us back on track. You heard somebody reading my scorecard. The way to judge a person is by what they have done before. Your antecedents. When we gave you class Prefect how did you handle it, when we gave you student union leader how did you handle yourself, when we gave you house of Assembly what did you come back with, When we gave you Senator how did you perform? You cannot be a Senator and you are have no bills, you cannot be a Senator and you have no motions, you cannot be a Senator and you have not impacted on your people. How has this Senator Geshom Bassey impacted on the lives of the people from the South? So now! I want impact on the entire Cross River State." Geshom said, while addressing the cheering crowd. 

In response, Rt. Hon. Obeten Okorn, a former house of Representative member informed Sen. Geshom Bassey and his team that the who is who in Yakurr are all gathered at venue and are in total support of Sen. Bassey who has the blueprints of Cross River State and they are confident he will deliver as the man who has concrete plan and strategy for the development of the State.

High point of the event was the blessing and prayers from Royal Fathers of Yakurr nation who took turns to pray for him and his ambition. 

In like manner, the Governor of Ebonyi state, governor Dave Umahi met with President Muhammadu Buhari where he officially declared his intention to run for president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, stating that he will not be deterred by the interest of the leader of the Party, Bola Tinubu
