Finally APC shift Convention date Forward as Buhari Gives Node

According to information reaching our newsroom, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, have finally settled for a change in date of its national convention, President Muhammadu Buhari gave his approval late yesterday.

Our source disclosed that the Mai Bala Buni led APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, CECPC, had earlier taken the decision to postpone the party's national convention by two weeks, which was earlier scheduled to hold this Saturday before approaching and seeking the president's approval.

There are also indications that stakeholders settled for a postponement owing to logistic gaps in the convention planning.

The issue of postponement of the convention had been a front burner in many conversations across the country with some stakeholders in support and against the postponement. P

Meanwhile, the Daniel Nwafor led in Imo state APC faction loyal to Former Governor Rochas Okorocha, has said that they are not in support of shifting the convention.

"I do not subscribe to shifting the date for the APC convention but it has already been preplanned that this convention will not hold, Mai Mallam Buni is a total failure, he has not done anything to improve the chances of the party going forward to 2023, he wants to be in charge and conduct the primary, that's his problem.

"He is the governor of Yobe State but he has abandoned his responsibility only to be running about as caretaker committee chairman, he can't be caretaker forever, but he and the people he is working with wants him to be in power. There is nothing abinitio to show that he wants to conduct the election, he is a disappointment," Nwafor said
