LG Boss to partner NLC celebrate Int'l women's day in Calabar South

As the March 8th, the International Women's day draws nearer, plans have been set in motion for Calabar South Local Government Area to partner with the women wing Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC to celebrate the day in Calabar South. 

This was part of the discussions when the Calabar South Executive Chairman, Hon. Mrs. Esther Bassey received in courtesy, Executive Members of Nigerian Labour Congress Women at her residence. The women who said the purpose of their visit was to appreciate the chairman for her numerous giants steps in  giving the Area a facelift, rolled out their plans for the forthcoming International Women's day slated for 6th - 8th of March while soliciting for support and partnership especially for their pet projects. 

They also informed that as a group the NLC women is focused on preparing female civil servants for their retirement day through several trainings and skills acquisition while advocating against gender based violence. 

 



Responding, Hon. Esther Bassey assured them of her support, while advising them to partner with relevant government MDA's such as Ministry of Social Welfare
other Civil Society Organizations in their fight against gender based violence  

Highpoint of the event was the decoration of the Queen of South with the NLC Women's day Uniform.
