'I Don't Believe in Zoning, It's For the Lazy' - Cklaimz Enamhe

Sir, Don Cklaims Enamhe

A founding member of the People's Democratic Party PDP,  initiator of "Think Cross River" and a two-time governorship aspirant, Sir Dorn Cklaimz Enamhe has said he does not believe in zoning, stating that zoning is meant for lazy people.

Enamhe, said this on Thursday, at 'The Stage', a Media Talk Show put together to set conversations on burning issues affecting Cross River State. He lamented that zoning had deprived the state of intelligent young leaders who would have been governors but for the mere fact that they are not from some particular zone, they weren't given the chance.

Recall that recently zoning and rotational politics had been at the front burner of several political discussions in the state with many concerns and agitations raised, while the Governor had been very consistent in his resolve to handover power back to the southern senatorial district of the state.

But speaking at 'The Stage', Enamhe argued that the best material should be put forth by political parties as electorates are now ready to vote only for good materials with quality substance to move the state forward.

His words;  "I do not believe in zoning, only those who are lazy push for zoning, the strong and the focused believe, if it's theirs, they can take it. and you must be ready if you are political. And if you are political then you must be ready to make your influence felt across board. I believe the best material should go to the field and contest, at that point in time, that material will overwhelm some people..."

"...Let me say this clearly, Cross River State has gotten to a point where any good hand can win elections, and must not come from any particular zone to win.
"When I ran for Governor of Cross River State, I didn't look at myself that I am from Bekwarra, and so the Zoning won't come to Bekwarra, I looked at myself that I was old enough to go for elections.
"And if we must zone, then let's zone inside the zone. I come from Bekwarra, a very difficult community, difficult because we have 10 council wards, 8 is Bekwara, and 2 is Afrikpe, they have never voted for the Afrike people, because we are the minority."

"If you like zone 200 times when you go to the field, the Bekwarra wicked man in him will vote against the minority.

"I am ashamed of myself, I cannot even help any Bekwarra man who has produced the best brains but cannot go and contest in the field.

"When you are good, when you are people-oriented, when you are sellable it will show.
I do not believe in zoning, zoning brings in mediocrity." He concluded.

The event was attended by senior government officials, civil organizations as well as members of the organised labour.
