2023: C'River Women Call on Prince Otu to Run For Governor





Women in their numbers yesterday stormed the streets of Calabar while calling on a former National Legislator who represented Southern Cross State, in the Red Chambers of the National Assembly Senator Prince Bassey Otu to present himself for the governorship race of 2023.

The call was made in a widely attended rally where women from all works of life, religion and cultural differences demanded that the astute politician steps out as he is the most qualified to redeem the state from its current economic quagmire. 

Speaking at the rally, Hon deaconess Fiona Ekpenyong Leader of Cross River State women's parliament said the women are on the street to send the message that it is only a man like Prince Otu who has been the People's Person who can win the election for the party, therefore, the party should ensure he gets the ticket, she said over the years, Otu has proven to be Protocol breaker a Divine helper, an Empowerment officer, a man who looks after widows and a women emancipator who will deliver if given the leadership mantle. 




Also speaking, the Hausa Community APC Women Leader, Amina Muhammed, described Prince Otu as a father of all, who loves everybody despite religious and cultural differences, stating that his works are manifest even to the blind to see. 

"We have seen what you did when you were at the national assembly, we want more of that to continue in Cross River State that is why as residents of Cross River State we are solidly behind your ambition and will be by you till you win." She said. 


The Youths and students were not left out as they took turns to praise the kind and amiable nature of the former lawmaker while pledging their support towards the vision statement that it was time for a man highly intelligent and people-oriented to lead the state as they believe in his capabilities to turn the fortune of the state
