C'River 2023: Women Will Be Adequately Represented in Governance - APC Ast. Women Leader

The Deputy Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Madam Maria Offiong has promised to ensure adequate representation of women in governance come 2023. 

Offiong disclosed this yesterday while welcoming the Party's National Women Leader, Dr Betta Edu back to the state after her emergency in the just-concluded National Convention of the Party.

Speaking further, Offiong noted that the few women who are already in positions of governance will be mobilised to create more opportunities for others through negotiation and dialogue. 

Betta Edu who have been adjudged to be the youngest women leader of any Political Party in Africa, said her party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) will mainstream women and young people in governance, as women have a lot to contribute to the nation citing Cross River were four Local Government Chairmen are women, almost all the vice chairmen are women, Special Assistant and ward executive are partly women. 

Furthermore, she stated that the All Progressive Congress (APC) is gender sensitive as it  National Working Committee (NWC) has been able to approve that all the women running for office under the platform of the party will be getting their forms free of charge. The party is also lobbying for more women inclusiveness in governance from the National Assembly to the State Houses of Assembly and going into the 2023 general election she said "APC is ready and APC will win" both at the federal and in Cross River state.
