Group Congratulate Prince, Call on Southerner Across Party lines to Support "Back to South"

Ukorebi Esien | 28th May 2022

A pro-South group known as, Cross River Southern Senatorial District Assembly has congratulated Sen. Prince Bassey Otu for his victory at the APC primary election describing the victory as beacon of hope for the actualisation of the Southern Aganda.

In a Press Statement issued by the group and signed by the Chief of Party, Offfiong the group called on all Cross Riverians especially those of the southern extraction to uphold the Back to South agenda, stating that the emergence of Prince Otu as the APC gubernatorial flag bearer has given hope rob the realisation of the dream.

The Cross River Southern Senatorial District Assembly, CRSSSDA, wishes to congratulate all groups and individuals who had worked tirelessly for the actualisation of the "Back to South Agenda". We know it was not an easy task but we have achieved 50% of our goals.

And for our brothers especially those in the People's Democratic Party that sold us out, we wish to let them know that the day of reckoning is fast approaching. The time has come for us all to drop our ambitions and come together to achieve the bigger goal in 2023 with Sen. Prince Bassey Otu of the All Progressives Congress.

We use this medium to congratulate Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu on his victory in the just concluded primary elections of his party. Our dear sweet prince, your victory is not just a mere victory but a sweet victory with a generational impact which you must not toil with.

Your victory has not only made the "Back to South Movement" see the light of the day, but it has rekindled hope in the heart of every true son and daughter of the land and we believe that Calabar and Cross River State will be great again. We also use this medium to congratulate H.E, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade for supporting and standing by the back south movement.

The time has come to change the narrative in the quality and calibre of people that represent us in the National Assembly. We cannot continue with the caliphate that was represented in 1999 in 2023. We need to work together to vote in new sets of young and vibrant leaders that will bring new ideas and the 21st-century representation that will be beneficial to us all. If we must tell ourselves the truth, many of the persons leading us, do not have any business in leadership positions.

At the time of conceiving the back to south agenda, the plan was to ensure all political parties produce a south candidate, although it may look as if that plan has failed, let us see it has God's Divine Agenda to unite the South across political lines to actualize the back to the south dream. In partnership with our brothers in the northern and central senatorial districts.

It is notable and visible even to the blind that development stopped in Cross River State in 2007. The state has since then gradually become a shadow of itself. It is now time to inject new ideas, fresh vision, and new leaders that will drive the state and return it to the clean and green era where tourism will be revived, and our economy will be restored. Lets not lose hope but work together and actualise this God's ordained mandate.
