Prince Bassey Edet Otu, a front-line gubernatorial aspirant on the APC platform has said he will modify the food on the table template introduced by the outgoing governor of Cross River State, Sen. Ben Ayade.

Otu who returned from Abuja yesterday, about one week after the Transcop Consensus meeting was received by a mammoth crowd of over 100 support groups and cultural troupes at the Margate Ekpo International Airport in Calabar.

Speaking to newsmen in a media parley, the party's new bride informed that he will sustain the dividends of democracy, the projects and programs of the Ayade's led administration, stating that he will reform the food on the table mantra of the governor by introducing jobs creation and making sure productivity is at the forefront of any appointment with the hope of maximizing the potentials of such beneficiaries.

Otu added that if elected he would sustain the social welfare fabric of the state to avoid relapse into criminalities and insecurities as well as deepening the industrialization strides of Governor Ayade while continuing with his projects rather than a break for new projects.

On his plans to revive the economic strength of the state, the Governorship hopeful said his economic blueprint will make Cross River the Europe of Africa. Stating that he will pursue the return of the 76 oil wells ceded to neighboring Akwa Ibom state while fighting for the revisiting of the green tree agreement that ceded Bakassi to Cameroon, as no referendum was conducted to decide the fate of the people of Bakassi. This condition according to him, must be looked into in challenging global conscience with the consequences of ceding Bakassi.

Clearing the air on the petition concerning his activities with his former employers at the defunct Mercantile Bank and other sundry issues surrounding his aspirations and relationship with other aspirants in his party, the former lawmaker said;

"I have never defrauded anyone or any establishment nor appeared in any court on account of character deficit. Security agents are on track of mischief makers circulating falsehoods against my person. I have come prepared, tested and trusted in very sensitive national agencies, assignments and interventions. Some of my legislative innovations are very critical to the Nigerian nation in banking, gas and oil as well as local contents matrix which has put economic control in the hands of many Nigerians.

I'm holding the mandate in trust for my co-aspirants. We are all victorious. Everyone will have a place in my government when elected. I trust absolutely in God as the One who gives power to anyone He chooses. I believe in the ethical politics of Governor Ayade as a Man whose word is his bond and who has stabilized the state political power equation through equity by standing by the back to South essence. My greatest governance philosophy is inclusiveness of all the genders, ages and classes in decision making and leadership at various levels." He said.
