IGP Dismisses C'River Police Constable Liyomo Okoi, See Reason

The Nigerian Police Force on Monday, dismissed Cross River born Police Constable, Liyomo Okoi.

It was gathered, that Okoi with force No. 524503 attached to Ekori Divisional Headquarters, Cross Rivers Police Command was dismissed for gross misconduct. The act bordered on a viral video on 31st July, 2022 where he was captured flogging a man with a machete. 

His dismissal was contained in a press release signed by the Force Public Relation Officer CSP OLUMUYIWA ADEJOBI  titled "Indiscipline, Police Dismisses PC  Liyomo  Okoi As IGP Frowns  At  Brutality, Extortion, Warns CPs, Commanders To Supervise Men".

The Statement reads in part;

"The Force has dismissed Force No. 524503 PC Liyomo Okoi attached to Ekori Divisional Headquarters, Cross Rivers Police Command for gross misconduct captured in a viral video on 31st July, 2022 where he was flogging a man with a machete. His dismissal takes effect from today the 8th of August, 2022."

Okoi's dismissal is coming days after the Force had dismissed one Mr Richard Gele,  with force no.188547 a native of Benue State, attached to 77 Squadron Kogi Okene Kogi State who was caught in a viral video receiving bribes, from members of the Public.
